Both members and non-members can obtain from the Chamber advice on a wide range of matters relating to trade and industry, for instance clearing of goods, setting-up of businesses, legal and regulatory framework and custom procedures.

The Chamber’s Information Department collects, analyses, stores and updates information on a wide range of topics in relation to local and external trade, industry, services sector and national accounts. This information is processed, archived, and made available on request.

The ICKES’s information cell provides comprehensive information on the country's basic characteristics i.e. its economic set-up and data, its various sectors and types of activities, and the Chamber's country specific mission and activities. We maintain number of databases including:

The Information Centre of the Chamber assists members by providing quality information on all aspects of domestic and foreign trade. Information is received each day from all over the world through Internet, which is filed and disseminated to the institutions and companies from the region via e-mail, the news bulletin issued by the ICKES, local media, fax. The Information Centre offers a subscription-based system for disseminating information.

The Chamber library contains directories from all over the world. The collection includes individual country information and Knowledge-based business opportunities and highly specialized data that is made accessible to our members on request.

The Chamber regularly gathers trade opportunities from abroad and presents them to members.

Legal Services:

The Legal Department makes available two types of services:

1. Advice and information regarding the legal and administrative aspects of business undertakings and particularly regarding International Business in the KPO Sector and relating foreign investments in India and vice versa.

2. An efficient settlement of trade dispute mechanism with the setting up of a Permanent Court of Arbitration which offers the following advantages:

· Quick and flexible settlement of disputes;
· confidentiality of proceedings;
· accessibility to all economic operators whether Indian or foreign;
· arbitration rules based on international standards (ICC, UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules);

Policy, Research and Representation:

Description 

As part of its representation function, The ICKES carries out surveys of knowledge institutions throughout the region in order to identify and analyse the levels and trends of economic activity, trading, recruitment. This activity is split into two areas of advocacy and representation work with particular attention being paid to the identification of needs of industry in the area, local economic regeneration, plans and policies, major infrastructure plans and policies and the likely impact of these upon the surrounding industrial area in terms of trading and employment creation opportunities, etc.
